Every turn ventures into the world of Eirik the Red and the other Norse adventurers in whose wake he sails. -- John Rousmaniere author of "After the Storm"

His writing evokes the grandeur and the cold to a point where the reader is at risk of frostbite. -- Hugh Downs author of "My America"

Not many men can claim to have navigated the Northwest Passage by native skin boat, but Bocstoce has. -- Steve Thomas host of This Old House
