Buck Tilton, director of The Wilderness Medicine Institute, Inc. in Pitkin Colorado, is a certified Avalanche Hazard Evaluator and an active member of the Pitkin Rescue Squad. He is the co-Author of Medicine for the Backcountry and author of The Basic Essentials of Rescue from the Backcountry and is a member of the Outdoor Writers Association of America.
