Born and raised in the heart of Great Lakes Country, Isabelle Dorlon paid little attention to the baseball players patronizing her mother’s rooming house—until 1903 when Jack Weatherby moved in. Polite and reserved, he attracted her from the start. But as their friendship deepened, so did their troubles. Jack’s long-held dream of playing for the Erskine College Purple Stockings nearly drowned when spring floods washed his reputation down the river. How could he convince the other players that he was not the strikeout they assumed him to be? Isabelle could help Jack revive his chances for the Erskine nine. She could even steer her well-to-do, lovelorn chum, Judith Jamison, down the road to romance in a brand new Cadillac. But no matter how hard Isabelle tried, she couldn’t overcome the puzzling affliction which had plagued her since childhood. Would Jack’s affections fade away once he learned the truth about her humiliating flaw?

About the Author:
Donna adopted Michigan as her home state in 1971 when she moved there from a small town outside of Rochester, New York. She began penning novels in 1982 while working full time for an electronics company in Grand Rapids. She resigned in 1984 following a contract offer for her first book. Since then, she has written several romance novels for various publishers, including Thomas Nelson Publishers, Zondervan Publishing House, Guideposts, and Bigwater Publishing LLC. Her nonfiction writing has been published by Chalfont House. Her husband, Fred, an American History teacher, shares her enthusiasm for history. Together, they visit historical sites, restored villages, museums, and lake ports, purchasing books and reference materials and taking photos. Donna lived her first sixty-five years in states bordering on the Great Lakes. Her familiarity and fascination with these remarkable inland waters and her longtime residence in the heart of Great Lakes Country provide the perfect background for writing Great Lakes Romances®.
