About the Author:
George Jonas was born in Budapest, Hungary in 1935. Following the Hungarian uprising of 1956, he emigrated to Canada and worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation as a script writer and a TV producer from 1962 to 1985. Since then he has been a freelance journalist, writer, and TV producer based in Toronto. He has contributed features, reviews, columns, poetry as well as aviation and motor-sport journalism to many Canadian periodicals and newspapers. He has also had a hand in writing, producing or directing over 200 dramas and documentary dramas for the CBC. Currently Jonas writes a syndicated weekly column for CanWest Publications, and is a weekly columnist for the National Post. He has written numerous books ranging from poetry to biographies to true crime books. His work has also been adapted into plays and movies.
