Jim is a resident of Brandon, Manitoba, whose latest career is that of a writer. He draws extensively on his many and varied experiences to create adventures for young people.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Jim has spent many years living and working in Manitoba's rural and remote northern communities.
Jim spent sixteen years with the Canadian Military stationed in Camp Shilo Manitoba; Wainwright, Alberta; and in Northern Europe with the Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers. He helped design the first electronically controlled rifle range used by NATO forces in Europe
It was in the military serving as air observer and air reconnaissance photographer that Jim developed his love of flying. Besides flying coast to coast Jim has restored two vintage aircraft to their former glory. The first was a 1947 Stinson seaplane. The latest work was a 1947 Cessna 140 which he rebuilt from a pile of disassembled parts. Jim explains his passion for flying, "Once you get Avgas in your blood you never get it out."
Jim Lists "doing everything at least once" as his hobby. He has just built a 1950 Studebaker Champion from the salvaged parts of three old vehicles.
The Mysterious Disk is the first in the Keystone Adventure Series for young teenagers. Readers will find mystery and intrigue in a variety of adventured full of excitement and danger.
