About the Author:
Paula Lewis is Professor of French, Canadian, and Women's Studies: Department of Modern and Classical Languages/Women's Studies at George Mason University, Virginia. She received her Ph.D. in French, from Columbia University, 1973. Area Specialties: Violence and gender; representations of violence; feminist and postcolonial theory; Quebec, Canada, France, and the United States. Books: The Aesthetics of Stephane Mallarme in Relation to His Public (Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 1976).
