About the Author:

James C. Maxon retired from government service in 1990 after a career with the National Park Service and subsequently the Bureau of Reclamation. A graduate of the University of Denver, with a Master's degree in archaeology from the University of Wisconsin, Jim lived and worked in the Lake Mead-Hoover Dam area for 20 years, gaining a thorough knowledge of and appreciation for the elements that constitute the vast Lake Mead country.
