About the Author:
Michael Chanin is a clinician at a residential treatment facility for adolescents. He lives on the coast in California with his wife, Kim, and their cat, Lapis. Michael values the wisdom of the earth's indigenous people. He sees the natural world as his teacher and guide. Michael enjoys walks in nature, feeding birds in his yard, surfing the Web, and eating toast.
The Chief's Blanket is Michael's second book for H J Kramer. Grandfather Four Winds and Rising Moon was published in 1994.
Kim Howard studied art and drama at the University of California at Berkeley. She has lived in the Rocky Mountains, where she painted wild life; in Ireland, where she painted birds; and in Norway, where she exhibited and taught painting on the Hardanger Fjord. She has been a Merit Scholar at the Academy of Art College, a textile designer, a greeting card designer, and a freelance product designer. She has illustrated fourteen children's books, including the best-selling The Lovables in the Kingdom of Self-Esteem and the very popular Where Does God Live? Kim lives in Ketchum, Idaho, with her daughter Amelia.
