Cornwall has a unique culture, heritage, beauty and atmosphere. Its character is defined to a large extent by the places, people, natural features and buildings that typify and represent the best of the county. In words and photographs, this book portrays those iconic locations that exemplify Cornwall - places that fascinate, intrigue and inspire. They range from ancient castles and defences, through nineteenth-century tin mines and bridges, to harbours, gardens, churches, and some of Britain's most spectacular moorland and coast.

His work is featured regularly in magazines, and his photographs are stocked by a number of photographic libraries. David has twice won double awards from the Outdoor Writers & Photographers Guild for Photography and Excellence in Writing.
Review:
'a treasure trove of locations that fascinate, intrigue and inspire.' (Western Morning News, 16.04. 13) 'The second edition ... has even more photographs and locations, plus an update of the notes on access to each location ... Excellent value' (The Cornishman, 11.04.13) 'the towns, landmarks and customs that have given the place such a distinctive character. David's superb photographs capture the golden light... as in the cover shot of St Mawes Castle, which has an almost Arabian tone to it. But this is no sentimental journey - more modern structures are included... The almost surreal granite formations on moorland, the crashing foam at Kynance Cove on the Lizard and the silken River Fowey... all are portrayed with the eye of photographer as artist. Dip into the book at any page and it will rekindle a desire to revisit this fascinating land or to discover aspects of it for the first time.' Colin Brent, Tavistock Times Gazette, 04.04.13) 'from ancient castles and defences to harbours, 19th-century tin mines and some of the UK's most spectacular moorland and coast.' (Cornwall Today, May 2013) Reviews for the first edition: 'Iconic locations are well chosen ... '... covers the whole county well. ... few will disagree with the author's final choice' (The Cornishman, 09.10.08) '... superb treatment from Sarah's words and David's lens. '... Iconic Cornwall portrays the wonder of our landscape and people.' (West Briton, 16.10.08) 'a book which lives up to its claim of reflecting the author's passion for her native Cornwall and her knowledge of its character' (Western Morning News, 12.11.08) '...homes in with words and views on fairytale settings... And the details of each scene are often as fascinating as the accompanying picture capturing light and mood.' (Tavistock Times Gazette, 18.12.08) 'will appeal widely ... it is very attractively packaged, and the price is very fair' (Old Cornwall, vol. XIII, no. 12, Spring 2009) 'Stunning photographs capture the essence of a unique corner of England.' (This England, Autumn 2013) 'if you failed to buy the original, this will be an attractive new purchase' (Old Cornwall, vol. XIV, no. 9, Autumn 2013)
