From Library Journal:
This tome begins with a short overview of the history of professional football, followed by a brief history of the Pro Football Hall of Fame from its dedication in Canton, Ohio on September 7, 1963. The bulk of the book is devoted to profiles of each player, coach, or official inducted between 1963 and 1991. Harrington writes in a breezy style reminiscent of the nightly television sports report. Although similar to Don Smith's Pro Football Hall of Fame All-Time Greats (Galley, 1988) and Mike Rathet's Pro Football Hall of Fame Presents Their Deeds and Dogged Faith (Routledge, 1984), Harrington provides more complete coverage. There is a good index, but the book lacks a bibliography or other documentation. Recommended for comprehensive football history collections. (Photographs not seen.)-- Terry Madden, Boise State Univ.
