About the Author:
KATHRYN TRUE love of the wild has been nourished on the Wonderland Trail encirculing Mt. Rainier, in the island nooks of Desolation Sound, along Nepal's infamous Annapurna Circuit, and in the deserts and hot springs of the Baja Peninsula. She's partial to forest paths that wind up at Puget Sound. True has run her own writing and editing business for over four years. Prior to that she was associate editor of In Context magazine where she wrote and edited articles on sustainability issues. Her writing has been published in Simple Living, The Seattle Weekly, and The Seattle Times. Kathryn has written reviews and articles for the Travel and Nature pages of Amazon.com and was the editor of and a contributor to Seattle Tilth's Maritime Northwest Garden Guide. True resides on Vashon Island.
MARIA DOLAN is a freelance writer and researcher based in Seattle. Her essays and journalism have been published in Salon Magazine, Audubon, Seattle Magazine, and Steelhead.
