Mona Charen is an American columnist and political analyst. She writes about foreign policy, terrorism, politics, poverty, family structure, public morality, and culture. She was a speech-writer for the Reagan White House, and recently penned an op-ed for the New York Times titled "I'm Glad I Got Booed at CPAC." She is also the author of the bestseller Do-Gooders: How Liberals Hurt Those They Claim to Help (and the Rest of Us).

About the Author:

Mona Charen's column on politics and culture is syndicated in more than two hundred newspapers. Before becoming a columnist and television commentator on CNN's Capital Gang, Charen wrote speeches in the Reagan White House for Nancy Reagan and worked on the presidential campaign of Jack Kemp. After graduating from Barnard College, Columbia University, she began her career in journalism at National Review magazine. She lives in Virginia with her husband and three children.
