Teresa Kynell-Hunt is a professor of English at Northern Michigan University and has a Ph.D. in rhetoric and technical communication from Michigan Technological University. She is currently chair of the NCTE Committee on Technical and Scientific Communication and serves on the Executive Committee of the Association of Teachers of Technical Writing. She is the author of a variety of articles in the field and the book, Writing in a Milieu of Utility: The Move to Technical Communication in American Engineering Programs, 1850-1950. With Michael Moran (University of Georgia) she co-edited the collection, Three Keys to the Past: The History of Technical Communication. With Wendy Stone she wrote the text Scenarios for Technical Communication: Critical Thinking and Writing.
Gerald J. Savage has a Ph.D. in rhetoric and technical communication from Michigan Technological University and is an associate professor in the English Department at Illinois State University, where he teaches technical communication and technical editing. He is co-editor with Dale L. Sullivan of Writing a Professional Life: Stories of Technical Communicators On and Off the Job. He has published articles on technical communication in Journal of Technical Writing and Communication, Technical Communication Quarterly, and Journal of Business and Technical Communication.
