About the Author:
Dr.Barbara J. Walker is Professor of Reading at Oklahoma State University. Before teaching at the university level, Dr. Walker was a reading specialist in elementary schools, taught reading improvement at a junior college, and coordinated the instructional program at a home for physically handicapped children in Cochamba, Bolivia. She is active in various professional organizations, conducts workshops on teaching and assessing individual differences in literacy development, and has published papers and books on remedial reading, individual differences, reflective teaching and assessment.
