They investigate what it takes to be a good broker and how an investor can recognize these traits. They also critique large brokerage firms, the role of the financial planner, discount firms, and mutual funds. The latter portion of the book, dealing in investment jargon, becomes similar to works such as Louis Engel and Brendan Boyd's How To Buy Stocks (Bantam, 1982. 7th ed.) that say very little about the broker, but more on stocks.
