About the Author:

The late Chan Master Hsuan Hua was born in Manchuria China in 1918. He became a monk at 19, and taught at the Nan Hua Vinya Academy in Canton, China. He established monasteries in Hong Kong before coming to the United States in 1962. Master Hua established ten monasteries in the United States and lectured the orthodox Mahayana sutras for 40 years before his passing.
