Dr. Boyd's new book sets out the basic philosophy and principles on which homeopathy is based together with practical information on homeopathic case-taking, diagnosis and the application of remedies. The book discusses the homeopathic Materia Medica in relation to the systems of the body and the patient's complaints, within a framework familiar to any doctor. The author uses this framework to describe subsequent management of the patient in homeopathic terms. He explains the clinical conditions in which homeopathy is most useful, those conditions where conventional drugs and other forms of treatment are required, as well as circumstances in which orthodox medicine and homeopathy can be used in conjunction with each other. The symptom pictures of fifty of the most important homeopathic remedies are described in detail, offering the reader a sufficient basis on which to introduce them into his or her own practice. There is a bibliography, a glossary of specialized terms, questions for analysis and discussion, a subject index and a remedy index. Dr. Boyd has practiced in the fields of pediatrics, general and respiratory medicine and homeopathy for more than thiry-five years.
