This memoir recounts his strict Catholic upbringing, his fundamentalist conversion, and his ultimate falling out with Robertson and transition to a personal, nondoctrinaire Christian faith. He presents evidence that Robertson and his staff are guilty of hubris, inflexibility, greed, and insensitivity. However, he does not accuse them of charlatanism as he does other television evangelists.
