At 96, Era Dudley is something of an institution at Meadowpoint Manor, a senior living community in the Twin Cities where Robin Bentley's mother lives. Era's son Winston has gone missing and, knowing that Robin and her friend Cate helped to solve a murder last year, she gives the two "junior detectives" an assignment that propels the No Ordinary Women book club into yet another mystery.

From the Author:
In Spirited Away, Cate and Robin again are in the center of the action, but this time we learn about Cate's upbringing, some of that history coming through her mother, Wanda, who has moved into the senior living community, Meadowpoint Manor, where Robin's mother already lives, along with a few other senior citizens, characters who feel a lot like real people I know. My own mother, Daisy, had passed away a few years before I began this book, but she had read the first draft of Murder at Spirit Falls, and loved it in a way only a mother can. She told me how much she'd love to be part of that action, and so I wrote her smack in the middle of this new caper. in Spirited Away, the chance to solve a mystery rejuvenates Daisy and the other residents at Meadowpoint Manor.

People have suggested characters for a movie rendition, but the people who come to mind are not actors. Unfortunately, Daisy, the only real character, is not around to play her part. Nor is the person on whom I fashioned Era Dudley, a woman from my home town who, in her mid-nineties, was still driving around town in her Model A Ford to visit the "old people" in nursing homes. She and her good friend Margaret never had to cook a meal--they simply went from one funeral lunch to another.

Spirited Away is the second in the No OrdinaryWomen book club mysteries, a sequel to Murder at Spirit Falls and Spirited Away.
From the Back Cover:
The No Ordinary Women are back!  Robin Bentley and Cate Running Wolf have been through a lot together, most recently risking their lives to solve a murder.  You'd think they'd learn.
But when 96-year old Era Dudley, a spry, compact woman with mauve hair, charges toward Robin, points a bony finger in her chest and demands she helps locate her missing son, Robin can't resist drawing Cate and the No Ordinary Women book club into yet another mystery.  They're not without help, however.  Era and the other loveable and quirky residents of Meadowpoint Manor are not about to be sidelined, despite their advanced years.
