From Library Journal:
There are six authors to this work, each of whom is expert on his or her section of Texas. Together they lay out some interesting trips--half-day, full-day, or multiday in length. The route descriptions are clear; the recommended accommodations (motel or camping) are provided, along with restaurant information, climatic concerns, traffic, gradient, etc. Perhaps the most pertinent comment, from a cyclist's point of view, comes from Ed Swan's introduction: "These pristine avenues seldom have shoulders but usually have very little traffic. They were built at a time when the state had coffers full of oil money and believed that if you had a place, any size of place, and another place, you should build a very nice road from one to the other." This makes the riding sound inviting indeed. Also featured: a "resources" section listing local bike clubs, sources of road maps, and organized annual rides. Recommended for all Texas libraries and larger libraries in the Southwest.
