Since the 1970s, according to the U.S. census, immigration has accounted for one out of four persons added to the U.S. population. Mexican-Americans constitute the largest single component of the new wave of immigration. What are the effects of immigration by people of Mexican origin on the economic, educational, social, political, and linguistic systems of the United States?
