From Publishers Weekly:
Here's a down-to-earth look at familiar environments from an unexpected vantage point--variously shod feet. Neidigh invites readers to find each of 23 creatures in her able watercolors, which focus on, for example, hiking boots being worn in the woods, green Wellies in farmyard mud, even bunny-slippers protecting their owner's soles from bedroom carpeting. Borders around each illustration depict related long-range views. Davis's rhymes, however, are sophomoric--uninformative and far less amusing than nonsense verse. ("I love a park with deep, green grass / where everyone has fun. / Creatures even come, I think, / to picnic and to run.") Moreover, some of the 23 animals on the list seem to be missing from the book. A somewhat disappointing and haphazard package of a potentially winning concept. Ages 3-up.
