About the Author:

Mary Lou Shields grew up poor in Boston but with the help of some wonderful teachers and librarians, she got accepted to Radcliffe College and has made Cambridge her home ever since. She is currently at work on her second book, In My Own Footsteps: The Making of a Psychoanalytic Memoir.
