Nations of the World Each cue card gives information on one of the 42 most populous nations of the world. The students role play being from one of the countries in 10 varied activities suggested in the book. Information on the country is given not in sentences but as data on a chart. The chart on all the countries follows the same format, so students know what information everyone has. Using the cue card, they ask questions, creating the whole language. In the process of role play discussion, they are also learning fascinating information about geography, economics, and the cultures of the various countries.

Role playing in the ESL/EFL classroom is a traditional way of getting our students "out of themselves" and talking with each other. We give the student a cue, instructions about the role they are to play, and then let them act out the situation.
