The 30-year-old Israel Museum has never been the subject of a book before, and, while no single book can completely convey the whole of a large and complex museum, this one comes close. The curators of the various departments of the museum do a fine job of conveying the museum's general world art collection and youth wing, but it is as a repository of biblical history and Judaica that both the Israel Museum and this book shine. Both the history of the museum and particular elements of the collection are highlighted.
