John Denver was one of the most popular performing artists of the 1970's. He released more than three hundred songs, composing about half of them himself. Denver hosted a television series and performed in movies. He was named 'Poet Laureate of Colorado' in 1977 and his song Rocky Mountain High was named as a state song for Colorado in March 2007. About the Author:

Storyteller and author John Stansfield began exploring western North America as a boy in 1960 and has never stopped. He loves hiking and skiing the West and telling stories about its diverse lands, wildlife and people. He previously wrote Enos Mills: Rocky Mountain Naturalist (Filter Press, 2005) for the Now You Know Bio series. Stansfield presents a one-man show for all ages reenacting the life of Enos Mills. He teaches storytelling on the adjunct faculty of the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs. John's efforts to protect and preserve Colorado's wild places earned the Environmental Heroes Award from the Widerness Society in 2004. John and his wife Carol live in Larkspur, Colorado.
