I've been interested in history for as long as I can remember. When other kids would groan at a social studies assignment, I'd do extra credit. (Yes, I was one of those). So, it doesn't surprise me that my favorite books are set in history or that I enjoy writing historical novels. And my favorite settings are in America. From colonial times to just before WWI, I create characters who are strong enough to build a new country, tough enough to weather all kinds of hardship and tender enough to recognize true love when it knocks on their door.

A Daring Dance - "Maybe I'd like to see this hula-hula dance." Jefferson's voice deepened over the words, and Sinclair felt as if he'd caressed her. She was staring up at him as he gently reached down to curl a strand of her hair around one finger.

"I really can't perform the hula-hula. I only read about it once." Her voice sounded breathless to her own ears and she couldn't aeem to turn away from the heated look in his eyes.

"You've got a pretty good imagination, Sinclair. I bet you could do it, if you really put your mind to it."

Sinclair shook her head violently. "I really couldn't. It sounded so... primitive and sensuous."

His finger traced an imaginary pattern down the side of her cheek to rest at the lace edge of her gown. "Sensuous?"

She closed her eyes as his arms encircled her waist and pulled her toward him.

"The women perform it nearly naked." Her breath was coming in small bursts now and her blood felt heated. "The men dance with them." She was swaying on her feet as his warmth enveloped her.

He tightened his hold, pulling her hard against him. "If that's the truth, I'll be thinking of taking a trip to those islands, because that must be a sight to see."

His mouth claimed hers.
