About the Author:
Sigrid Undset (1882-1949), novelist, essayist, Catholic convert, and lay Dominican, was born in Denmark, but lived most of her life in Norway. She is best known for her novel Kristin Lavransdatter and in 1928 became the third woman to win the Nobel Prize for Literature.
