She tells him about the time he fell into the brook, about the day they rode the bus and Pete decided to be a cat, and about the game of hide-and-seek when his mother fell asleep. Average-quality, colorful cartoons illustrate the bland story. Ruth Wallace Brodeur's Stories from the Big Chair (McElderry, 1989), is very similar but better written.
