they were brilliant

sparkling

the moon was a sliver

I breathed out

and a heavy weight

was lifted off me

reflecting as I lay

in the middle of the cornfield

how do I ever get myself

in the middle

of such difficult situations?

my heart was sad

looking up

at the stars

realizing how I need

to slow down

not try to do everything

would try again

by being here

to see

what I could do differently

so my life

could reflect

the beauty of these fields

now the sun was out

another day

glancing in the distance

watching

a small group

make their way toward me

unusual for a sabbath

as I looked closer

saw it was the one

who healed

walking slowly with his friends

conversing

did not know

what to do

approach them?

or try to hide

among the corn stalks?
