From School Library Journal:
Grade 6-8 A book for the suicide victim's friends, classmates, and familynot the potential victim. After dispelling some of the myths surrounding suicide, describing potential victims, and listing eight classic warning signs, the authors present six composite histories, written in dialogue, to describe typical situations that lead to suicide. These stories illustrate when to intervene; when and where to go for help; how to help a suicidal friend after an attempt has been made; and how to cope with the guilt, anger, and grief experienced after a suicide. The book is clearly written and has repeated advice to involve an adult in the ``getting help'' process. More easily read but not as complete as Francine Klagsbrun's Too Young to Die: Youth and Suicide (Houghton, 1976), this book deals with an urgent problem that cannot be ignored. It should be useful to counselors and junior high readers seeking to understand the myths and realities of suicide. Sue Diehl, Robertsville Junior High School, Oak Ridge, Tenn.

Book Description No Cover. Ex-Library. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. ISBN:0-8225-0037-X. The decorative cloth hardcover book on teen suicide is an excellent book and this copy is in good condition. The book was a small town Nebraska school resource book and has a pocket in the front with several names and several school stamps and stickers. The covers are multi-colored like tye-dyed with blue and white and orange and the covers have minor wear around the edges and at the corners. This is a book we hope lots of kids were reading and this one was read a little. The spine is tight but does have some wear at the top and bottom edges. The pages are white with little wear and few marks besides the library stuff. The front cover advertises: the eight warning signs of suicide; stepping in-when to intervene; knowing your limits-when and where to go for professional help; how to help a friend after a suicide attempt; and those left behind-coping with the shock, anger, guilt and grief. 8 chapters. 70 pages with other reference materials listed in the back.
