Presenting the New York Times bestselling thriller from Dean Ing! “Crisp and clever, with breathless moments . . . the book soars!”—Chicago Tribune

The Ransom of Black Stealth One is about a breakthrough in stealth technology—an ultralight, ultrasleek plane that is not only invisible to radar, but can vanish without a trace through the use of computer-controlled technology. When a renegade engineer steals a plane, and takes the niece of a CIA chief hostage, the intelligence community mobilizes all its resources in a desperate race to keep Black Stealth One out of the hands of foreign agents.

About the Author:
Dean Ing has worked as a USAF interceptor crew chief, a senior research engineer in the aerospace industry, a builder and driver of sports-racing cars, and a university professor. He has a doctorate in communications theory. Ing is the author of the New York Times bestseller The Ransom of Black Stealth One, The Nemesis Mission, and The Skins of Dead Men. He lives in Ashland, Oregon.
From Publishers Weekly:
Ing ( Blood of Eagles ) constructs this techno-thriller around a low-performance aircraft built from materials giving almost no radar signature. "Black Stealth One" is an ideal intelligence-gathering aircraft, and is equally desirable to the U.S.S.R. American intelligence proposes to guard the secret of Black Stealth's true value by letting the Soviets buy the plane from a defector, in reality palming off an earlier, inferior version. The plan goes awry when the real Black Stealth is stolen by a rogue U.S. agent with a grudge. Ing's combination of ultralight and stealth technologies is convincing. His plot development, however, fails to integrate characters and situation into a coherent story. An unlikely and uninteresting May-September romance between the thief and his female hostage dominates much of the novel, and the ending, while clever, does not develop from the body of the book. 100,000 first printing; $100,000 ad/promo.
