About the Author:
Milt Hinton is a world-renowned double bassist who has played with Cab Calloway, Bing Crosby, and Louis Armstrong. Also a well-known jazz photographer, he lives in New York and California. Clark Terry is a trumpet and flugelhorn player who performed with Charlie Barnett and Count Basie, and later played with Duke Ellington before embarking on a solo career. A resident of New York, he is considered a living legend of jazz.

The book was published as part of a traveling exhibit by the Smithsonian Traveling Exhibition Service. There is a page listing all of the artists and writers whose work is represented in this volume, and their names are also on the back panel of the dust jacket. Please see the image of this panel to view their names. There are several breaks to the front gutter, thus the rating of Good+ to Very Good- on the book, otherwise this book is clean bright and with out marks or flaws. The dust wrapper has several small areas of discoloration to the front panel and a crease wrinkling to the bottom edge of the rear panel.
