About the Author:

Woodleigh Hubbard -- a resident of Colorado -- has studied at the Corcoran School of Art in Washington, D. C., the School of Visual Arts in New York City, and the Academy of Beaux Arts in Paris. This tightly-worded but lavishly-illustrated book is perfect for giving for Christmas to commemorate a special friendship.

Hubbard uses more words on the acknowledgements page than in the book to say thanks to all her 21 friends. The traits she shares with them are: sharing dreams, keeping secrets but not always agreeing, calling them first with news, not being too far apart, telling the (not always well-taken) truth, understanding their fears, being encouraging and making each other laugh, cheering one another on, not needing words, but just needing each other.

Hey, I'm one of Hubbard's friends too, because I'll call her first to tell her I like his book and I'm cheering her on to write another one like this. It comes with a cardboard slipcover.
