About the Author:

Craig Baxter is Professor of Politics and History at Juniata College, Huntington, PA. An officer in the U.S. Foreign Service, he served in Dhaka and other posts in South Asia during a career of 25 years. He is President of the American Institute of Bangladesh Studies. Syedur Rahman is Assistant Professor of Public Administration at Pennsylvania State University.
