Neil Cornwell is Senior Lecturer in Russian at the University of Bristol. He has written widely on Russian and comparative literature. His books include the first study on Odoevsky in English - "V.F. Odoevsky: His Life, Times and Milieu" (Athlone Press/Ohio University Press, 1996) - and "The Literary Fantastic: From Gothic to Postmodernism" (Harvester Wheatsheaf, 1990).
