Refreshingly, most projects avoid the "cute" country look in favor of cozy elegance. (There's even a striking set of items done in Hungarian applique, a sophisticated combination of white on black.) Many of the projects require little or no sewing. Others require more extensive use of the sewing machine, but a decent introductory section reviews all the basics and offers tips for professional-looking finishing touches.
