Bang, boom, bam--hear the huge elephants marching across the plains. So loud and so strong, they shake the ground. BUT...then there is Tiny. He trips over his small feet. Then he stumbles over his elephant trunk. And, ALL the other BIG elephants must wait for him to catch up. His mother promises Tiny he'll grow--but how can she know? Then Buffalo, Hippo, Ostrich, Zebra, and Lion tell him a secret...And, Tiny doesn't mind being tiny anymore! A special story with a most appealing little hero and his friends, all captured in warm and wonderful pictures.

From School Library Journal:
Preschool-Grade 1--A baby elephant is anxious to grow up. He asks numerous African animals if he will ever be as big as they are, and they all reassure him that he will be even bigger. He finds this hard to believe, but finally accepts the fact that one day he will be huge. His mother admonishes him to enjoy being little for the time being, so Tiny settles down, comforted by the knowledge that he will grow in due time. Cheerful illustrations of elephants, a water buffalo, a hippo, a zebra, and others accompany this slight story. Useful as an introduction to various animals, it lacks excitement and verve. A quiet tale for a peaceful day.
