From School Library Journal:
Grade 4-6-- An entertaining little gem that's chock-full of zany ideas for Halloween-oriented pranks and stunts. Topics range from transforming a normal home into a haunted house to creating a monstrous bodyless living head. Also included are optical illusions, superstition trivia, and riddles. Some of the ideas require advance planning and an ability to stage a mood. The directions for making the sounds of horses galloping from coconut shells are unclear, but everything else in the book seems like it would work. Illustrations are plentiful black-and-white cartoons with a nutsy, wild look. Eldin takes on a pleasant, friendly tone in the book, reminiscent of the way in which an older brother or cousin might help perpetrate spooky (but not really mean-spirited) jokes. The book should have a wide audience: kids, parents, teachers, and group leaders. Stock up on it. --Leslie Chamberlin, Napa City-County Library, CA
