From Library Journal:
Enthusiasm for quilting has generated shows, periodicals, and hundreds of books, with many fine titles serving aspiring quilters by providing careful, detailed instructions accompanied by beautiful examples. This book provides neither. While color photos precede the instructions for the 21 quilts detailed here, the designs and colors depicted are unimaginative, the sewing and piecing sloppy, and some photos out of focus. The text and illustrations do not always correlate, and the text itself is occasionally inconsistent. In addition, Roen ( Country Quilts in a Day , Sterling, 1991) uses this book to showcase her own amateurish drawings. With the many beautiful and inspiring quilting books being published, your precious library dollars are better spent elsewhere. Two recommended titles released this year are Diana McClun & Laura Nownes's Quilts, Quilts, and More Quilts! , LJ 10/15/93, and, for more advanced quilters, Willow Ann Soltow's Designing Your Own Quilts LJ 5/15/93.
