The remainder of the book is the photographic story of a Soviet girl's peace trip to America. Katerina Ly cheva, 11 years old, was invited to visit America for a whirlwind tour. Travel ing with her was an American girl, 11- year-old Star Rowe. The story of their few hectic days together (in Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., Hous ton, and Los Angeles) is told by the girls in alternating sections. Content and style are consistent with the age and interests of the girls, and most chil dren would be able to relate to their feelings, pleasures, and experiences. The oversize format is chock-full of ex cellent photographs, many in color and many presented as double-page spreads.
