About the Author:

Michael Bright, a prolific author of more than 55 books on natural history is a director at the British Broadcasting Corporation's Natural History Unit. A graduate of the University of London, he joined the BBC staff in 1971, beginning in the Science Unit and eventually moving to the Natural History Unit of BBC television where he worked on the programs Nature and The Natural World. His published titles include The Private Life of Sharks, Animal Language, The Living World, and The Dolittle Obsession.
