In A Journey Through Oz: The Business Leaders' Road Map to Tracking Information Technology Assets, author Chris Jesse maps out a yellow brick road that your organization can follow in the quest for proactive control of enterprise-wide assets. This book reveals the true wizardry behind improved corporate productivity and the overall survival of organizations in today's highly competitive markets -- a full-featured asset tracking solution.

Sound esoteric? Not when you consider the massive savings potential.

Jesse, the CEO of Tangram Enterprise Solutions, Inc., a publicly held software company, explains in a breezy, conversational style how an asset tracking solution can be used by business leaders across the organization to answer critical business questions, such as:

Why am I always planning IT asset programs in the dark? What IT assets are installed in the enterprise and how do we reconcile this information with the fixed-asset accounting system? Why do software upgrades always cost ten times more than expected? How can I better manage the increasing theft of IT assets? What impact is Internet access having on employee productivity? How do I increase end-user productivity while reducing the cost of end-user support?

Convinced? Then Jesse walks you step by step through the process of purchasing the right system for your corporation's needs. It may not be quite as easy as tapping your heels together three times...but it's a lot easier than you might think.

From the Inside Flap:
"A Journey Through Oz provides a road map to understanding the urgent need to implement the distributed asset tracking tool set for a measurable and positive impact on business results. This book should be required reading for business leaders who want to understand and maximize the impact of their companies' IT (information technology) investment on net income. Clearly, CIOs and sourcing leaders should read this book as well if they are to be true partners in the business profitability equation."

Suzanne M. Wetherington, Vice President, Information Technology,

GE Capital/TIP "A Journey Through Oz takes a difficult subject, one that many either don't understand or find boring, and illustrates how a disciplined approach of managing a distributed IT environment can really add value and return dollars to the bottom line...What's more, the book provides a cookbook approach for those who don't know how to begin."

Carl Wilson, Vice President, Information Resources,

Georgia-Pacific Corp. "Ever wonder if all the computing technology you buy causes more problems than it solves? A Journey Through Oz puts that question clearly into perspective. For those of you who don't know whether you have a problem, it will be enlightening...for those of you who know you do, it will reinforce your resolve to do something about it. And for those who are engaged in solving the problem, it will confirm and refine your thinking and actions. The result will be lower costs, higher user satisfaction, more value and enhanced personal credibility."

Robert H. Cawly, President and CEO,

Sentry Technology Group
