About the Author:

Buck Turnbull is a 1951 graduate of the University of Iowa School of Journalism. He spent forty-one years as a sportswriter for the Des Moines Register, covering many of the Hawkeye football games he writes about in this book. Turnbull won numerous awards in newswriting contests and was twice voted Iowa's Sportswriter of the Year. He is the author of From the Press Box, his view of the Iowa sports scene.
