Synopsis

Jake Murdock is a small Wyoming rancher with big ambitions. The only thing he lacks is money. Bill Lang, a hired gun, has been severely wounded in a confrontation with the Flynn clan, so Jake takes him back to his ranch. It is there that Bill meets Ellie, the mixed-blood woman with whom Jake lives.

The situation is complicated by the growing friendship between Bill and Jake, one that Jake wants to result in a partnership. Wayne D. Overholser: Wayne D. Overholser (1906 1996) won three Spur Awards from the Western Writesrs of America and has a long list of fine Western titles to his credit. Buckaroo’s Code was his first Western novel and remains one of his best. His stores are based on a solid knowledge of the history and customs of the nineteenth-century West, particularly when set in his two favorite Western states, Oregon and Colorado.
