In the first story, the three young witches decide to give a Halloween party so they send invitations to their classmates, including mean Melissa. The ensuing adventures follow the girls as they ready their home for the festivities and reveal their daily activities, until the last story, "Party Night." Animals, books, and furniture can talk and the correct magic words will make a room clean itself. Interspersed throughout the stories are the clever RSVP replies, which take on various formats and arrive in unexpected ways. Watercolor pictures splash the pages with bright images of the girls and their friends, who include wizards, trolls, and a dragon. The lively action and varied typefaces are visually stimulating and will hold the interest of new readers.
