This book has the same attention to daily detail onboard the ship and the sudden leaps into hostile naval action, with all its danger and fear. The author's meticulous detail does not detract from the drama--it enhances it. Narrator Terry Wale's British accents are as accurate as can be. He doesn't have to speed up when the peril begins; his oral tension conveys it all. Characterizations are subtle, low-key, and immediately believable. This narration is as masterful as it gets.
