Patches of Fire is Albert French’s deeply personal memoir of a young black man’s Vietnam War experience. Albert French served in the U.S. Marines as an infantryman during the Vietnam War. After the service, he taught himself photography and worked as a medical photographer and a photojournalist. He is the author of Billy, Holly, and I Can’t Wait on God.
