The Ransome Trilogy from exciting new author Kaye Dacus combines the wit, romance, and social commentary of Jane Austen with the sea-faring adventure of Horatio Hornblower.

July 1814. The war with France has ended, and Captain William Ransome, known for never letting women aboard his ship, has returned to Portsmouth, England. Julia Witherington, considered an old-maid at 29, discovers that she must marry immediately to receive a large dowry. Julia knows that the only man she doesn't want to marry is William Ransome. And the only man her father will approve of is...William Ransome.

When the couple strikes a financial deal to feign marriage for one year, the adventure begins. These stubborn people face humorous and hard situations that reveal what else they have in common--a growing affection for one another. This intriguing tale of faith and loyalty is a wonderful new offering for readers of all genres.

About the Author:
Kaye Dacus, author of Ransome's Honor has a BA in English, with a minor in history, and an MA in writing popular fiction. Her love of the Regency era started with Jane Austen. Her passion for literature and for history come together to shape her creative, well-researched, and engaging writing.
Review:
"In the first book of her Ransome Trilogy Series, Ransome's Honor, Kaye Dacus brings the English Regency period to vivid life in the tradition of Jane Austen, but in her own distinctive voice and style. The plot is engaging and the hero and heroine sympathetic and believable, as is the entire cast of well-drawn characters who populate this book--including the delightfully villainous villain. "The element of faith is also exceptionally well integrated and central to the main characters' lives. Delightfully, the crisis is just hair-raising enough to keep the reader turning pages without becoming overwhelmed. My kudos to Ms. Dacus for another excellent read! I can't wait for the second book in this series!"
--J. M. Hochstetler, author of the American Patriot Series

"A thoroughly enjoyable Regency Romance! With exceptional writing and great attention to detail, Ms. Dacus transports the reader into the world of 1802 Portsmouth, England. If you're looking for a fun escape, clear your schedule and pick up this book!  And the next book in the series, only hinted at in this one, holds a sweet promise of a great adventure!  I, for one, will be first in line to read it when it is released."
--MaryLu Tyndall, author of the Charles Towne Belles series

"Ransome's Honor is a delight for both Regency fans and history buffs.  The impeccable research into the Napoleonic era, including ship layout and naval customs and language, make both the Portsmouth setting and the characters come alive. The ending may surprise but will not disappoint the reader in this suspenseful inspirational Regency."
--Barbara Miller, Adjunct Faculty Writing Popular Fiction Program
