Two different journeys of Italian migration to Australia, as seen through the eyes of two brothers a generation apart, with very different careers: one dedicated to the arts of the organ, the other to the table. Stefano de Pieri has made his name through the ABC-TV series A Gondola on the Murray and the accompanying books of recipes. He has earned three 'hats' for the Grand Hotel in Mildura, and is famous for adapting fresh Australian ingredients to the traditional recipes of the Veneto. His older brother, Sergio, was Chief Organist at St Patrick's Cathedral, Melbourne, in the 1960s; and subsequently became Professor of Organ at the Conservatorium of Venice. He now divides his time between Italy and Australia; he initiated the popular annual Ballarat Goldfields Organ Festival. An archetypal story of migrants finding a new home, this book is as vibrant and varied as the two brothers, as they compete for attention with poems by Stefano and recipes by Sergio.

There is a dedication on the front end paper signed by Stefano de Pieri, and another by Judith Armstrong. The thirsd is illegible and I'm assuming it's Sergio de Pieri. "We all know Stefano de Pieri through his ABC TV series 'Gondola on the Murray'. This is their story.", Signed by Author(s). Seller Inventory # 019365
